The Tarore Story a Unique Opportunity
Award winning author, Joy Cowley, has teamed up with Bible Society to write the remarkable story of Tarore – for a very special purpose.
Tarore was a young Maori girl who came to faith when she was given a copy of the Gospel of Luke. Her death in 1836 led to many other Maori people becoming Christians.
And here’s the very special purpose.
The Tarore story will be published and distributed free to 110,000 children through Christian Religious Education (CRE), formerly known as Bible in Schools. It will also be distributed to up to 30,000 school children in Catholic primary schools.
The book will contain selected verses from the Gospel of Luke, and it will be illustrated using a
series of eighteen paintings created by artist, Mary Glover Bibby, in the 1920s.
Your gift of just $10 will help to provide 20 copies of this book with its transforming message of the Gospel. To make a gift please click here.
P.S. Everyone who makes a gift will be offered a free copy of the Tarore story. Please see the ‘give online’ page for more details.
