GOD SPEAKS MY LANGUAGE
Have you ever wondered what it would be like not having access to the Bible in your heart language - the language that you think, feel and dream in? Perhaps you have experienced that.
For approximately 350 million people worldwide, there is no Bible or even a single book of the Bible in their language - the Bible is a book that only comes in someone else’s language.
As part of our annual Bible Sunday celebration this year, we want to highlight the importance of Bible translation work and the joy experienced by those receiving a Bible in their heart language for the very first time.
Bible Society is currently involved in over 650 Bible translation projects worldwide, including the recent launch of the New Testament in Tokelau and the newly reformatted Maori New Testament.
But there are still 4,430 languages that have no portion of Christian Scripture.
None whatsoever! As Christians who have ready access to the Bible, we want to make sure we give them the Good News in their heart language as quickly as we can.
