CHALLENGE #27
There is a real hunger here in Fiji for God's Word, the villagers really cherish the Bibles we share with them. It reminds us what a precious gift we hold in our Bibles and that we shouldn't take it for granted. Today we're challenged afresh to read, believe, follow and think about how we treat Gods Word.
CHALLENGE #26
Jesus said, "I promise you that on the day of judgment, everyone will have to account for every careless word they have spoken. On that day they will be told that they are either innocent or guilty because of the things they have said." Matthew 12:36-37. Be careful what you say this week. Make sure your words are words that will not get you into hot water with others, or God.
CHALLENGE #25
Read 1 John 2:7-11. Think about what it means to live in the light. Are you living in the light? Is there someone you 'hate'? Make a plan to give up that hatred and commit to thinking of that person as your brother or sister in Christ.

'Peter came up to the Lord and asked, "How many times should I forgive someone who does something wrong to me? Is seven times enough?" Jesus answered: "Not just seven times, but seventy-seven times!"' Mat 18:21-22. Is there someone you need to forgive? Give them a call and let them off the hook.

Read Matthew 25:31-40 It’s easy to help the people we like and we have no problem being nice to our friends but what about people we don’t get on with or those we don’t really like? God calls us to treat everyone equally and even love those people we’re not so fond of. This week be nice to someone you don’t like. You’ll be amazed what happens.

Read Romans 8:28 My iPod broke recently :-( I was gutted cos I love music. Then something really cool happened. In the silence I started chatting with God more & was soon thanking Him for letting it break cos it brought me closer to Him! Is there something bad in your life that could be good? See if you can see the positive in it.

Read 1 Thessalonians 5:10-11 Do you have days when nothing goes right & everything seems too hard? Then someone says something nice to you & it cheers you up & things seem do-able again. A compliment or a word of support can really help. Is there someone you know who could really use a word of encouragement today?

Read Mark 1:35 Do you get to the end of the week & wonder where it went? Do you get so busy you don’t always have time to spend with God? Despite our busyness it’s important we take time out to talk to (in prayer) & listen for Him so He can give us the ultimate support & encouragement. What could you skip today to make time for God?

Read Matthew 11:28-30 Sometimes things don’t go the way we hope or unexpected things happen that can wear us down. God wants to help carry our burdens so we aren’t overwhelmed by them. Is there something you’ve been trying to carry on your own that God could take on His shoulders for you? Take a moment today to hand it over to Him.

Read Mark 6:31 Life can get busy sometimes. We often get so focused on getting things done that we pass by opportunities to serve others and reflect Christ to the world. It’s important to get quality rest every day so you’ll be ‘available’ to help others who might need a hand. How can you take time out today?

Read Matthew 6:25-34 If you’re like most of us, you sometimes worry about stuff that hasn’t even happened yet! God doesn’t want us to worry. He wants us to hand our worries to Him, to put all our energy into enjoying His gift of ‘today’ and trust that He’ll take care of tomorrow. Is there something you’re worried about today that you can hand to God?

Read James 1:2-8 Some us here are having our faith tested at the moment. We know all we need to do is believe in God’s plans for us & trust him, but sometimes it’s hard & doubts sneak in. It can be spiritually exhausting. Is God challenging you with something? Share your heart with God today then trust he can make anything happen.

Read 2 Timothy 3:16 & Joshua 1:8 With new technologies there’s tonnes of ways to get into the Bible. We can read it online www.biblegateway.co.nz, listen via pod casts or audio Bibles, see it www.Godtube.com or go the ‘old fashioned’ way and pick up an actual Bible! We’re blessed with choice. What’s your favourite way to “read” the Bible?

Read Isaiah 55:10-11 The Bible isn’t merely ink on paper, it is the living Word of God which He lovingly gave so we could grow in a relationship with Him. As we connect with His Word and share what we learn with others we bear the fruit of God's purpose. How we can keep His Word alive so that it bears fruit?

Read Matthew 6: 12-15 Easter reminds us we are forgiven for all our sins, but sometimes we forget the enormity of this gift and that we have the responsibility to forgive others too. Or it can be hard to put our hurt, angry or sad feelings aside. Is there someone you could share your forgiveness with today? Ask God to help you.
HEATHER’s CHALLENGE #12
Read Job 29:24 Make people smile! Try smiling at nice people first to know it works + get your confidence up. Then try more challenging people. You'll be surprised at who you can get to smile :) it’s contagious + rewarding. You'll cheer them up + yourself. Just don't be weird + cheesy though! Have fun!

Read Mark 16:15. We all love to share good news - like telling Bridgette & Heather they’re going on a mission trip! So why is the best news of all, Gods Word, often harder to share? It can feel scary or awkward. Confidence comes with practice. Got any tips on making it easier?

Read Romans 10:17 The best way to get to know God and grow our faith is through His Word. What does your Bible mean to you? How can you share your passion for God’s Word with someone today? Check out what the Bible means to Sydney and Sara.

Read 2 Chronicles 20:2-15 Jehoshaphat didn’t know how to defeat their attackers, but knew he had to trust God & look to Him for strength. Is there a situation in your life where you don’t know what to do? How can you put your trust in God? Share your techniques on the wall to help others do the same.

Read James 5:15-16 Praying for others is one of the opportunities we have to express God’s love to people. When we make the effort and take time to pray for others we can expect amazing results. Is there someone you could pray for today?

Read Romans 12:17-21 Is there someone you’ve had an argument with or who has upset you? Surprise them, not with angry retaliation, but with Spirit empowered LOVE! Don’t get bitter, instead, win them over with gentleness, kindness, and love. Share how you did this so others can try your ideas too.

"'Comfort, comfort my people,' says your God." Isaiah 40:1. Comfort has many forms. Look for an opportunity this week to comfort someone. Go out of your way to meet that need, even if comforting them makes you feel uncomfortable. Share your experiences, send us an email.

Read 2 Corinthians 8:13. Paul is saying he wants the rich to work towards equality. What can you do today that values equality? Email us your thoughts.

Read Matthew 25:40-45. List the people whom are considered ‘least’ in your neighbourhood. Make a vow to treat the ‘least’ with the same respect as you treat Jesus. Email us your vow.
