We’re excited to announce that we’ll again be supporting Parachute Festival as official sponsors.

Parachute Festival is the largest Christian music festival in the Southern Hemisphere with a mission to connect people to Jesus through music. Our presence gives us a tremendous opportunity to engage with the 28,000 new and existing young Christians expected to attend.

Over 100 local and international bands will fill Hamilton’s Mystery Creek Events Centre with everything from hardcore to hip hop, electronica to alt-country, and plenty in between. Held over Auckland anniversary weekend, the Festival features the heavyweights of Christian music across six stages. The drug and alcohol free four-day event offers a wide range of entertainment alongside the rock n’ roll – including amusement rides, seminars, water slide, skate park, and shopping.

Mission Adventure opportunity

This year at Parachute we’ll be raising awareness of Bible mission and the urgent need to get Bibles to those who don’t have access to God’s Word. We’ll be focusing particularly on the South Pacific and giving people a chance to be chosen to go on a mission adventure.

We’ll send one person and a mate on a life-changing sailing mission to deliver Bibles to remote South Pacific islands – and the trip’s on us. We’re looking for someone with a real heart for mission, someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of others. This is a chance for someone to make a real difference, to be part of something bigger and to see the direct effects of spreading God’s Word to those who don’t have it.

To promote the mission adventure we’re taking a 25 foot sailing boat to Parachute! The yacht, on loan from a generous supporter, will be in the festival village to attract people to come and sign up! People can also sign up online.

Change Lives Today Challenge

Last year we were overwhelmed by how eager young Christians were to share their passion for God with others. So many people shared words that encouraged and inspired others to reconnect with their Bibles. So we’re giving them a chance to do the same this year.

We’ll be encouraging people to share ideas on how they can change lives all around them every day by putting God’s Word into action. By sharing their experiences on the ‘Change Lives Today’ page on Facebook they’ll be able to inspire others to do the same. The page also includes specific challenges from the Bible designed to provoke action. It’s hoped the page will spur young Christians all over the country to not only change lives around them but also to share how they’re doing it to encourage others.

The Lounge

Once again we will be the key sponsor of The Lounge, a safe place at Festival for people to seek guidance or talk about their spiritual journey with trained facilitators who offer counseling, support, prayer and advice. Approximately 2,000 people make a commitment to follow Christ at Festival each year. Many of these new followers will visit the Lounge to talk about their journey of faith and any other issues they may have. We will offer visitors to the Lounge a free New Testament along with other resources to help them read and engage with God through it.

Our support of Parachute and the Lounge is synergistic with our mission and will enable us to engage with and provide relevant resources to a younger audience. Together we will assist in helping thousands of young New Zealanders engage with God through his Word.
