The Bible Society of South Africa is among agencies working to ensure that God’s Word is present among the excitements and disappointments of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Under the auspices of The Ultimate Goal (TUG), 20,000 Bibles are being distributed free of charge and the Bible Society is also supplying Bibles in various languages to churches and missionary organisations involved in further Scripture distribution relating to the World Cup.

And if you have watched any of the World Cup games, you will have heard the vuvuzela, which is bringing a unique and almost deafening sound to the World Cup venues. It is also used as an instrument of worship in church services in Botswana. One church attendee refers to the vuvuzela as ‘a biblical instrument’.
