Two New V-Ps for Bible Society

Archbishop David Moxon and Bruce Murray QSO, were elected as the two new Vice- Presidents of Bible Society New Zealand at the National Council meeting in February. Peter McKenzie QC was re-elected to serve for another year as President.
Archbishop Moxon is the Bishop of Waikato, Senior Bishop of the New Zealand Diocese and co-presiding Bishop in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia. Born in Palmerston North, he was educated at Massey and Canterbury Universities and also at Oxford University, England. He was ordained a priest in 1979 and ordained Bishop in 1993. He has been heavily involved in liturgical education and development and has been at the forefront of development in local shared ministry.
Bruce Murray has been an officer at the Tawa Baptist church since 1965 including as Bible Class Superintendent for 11 years and a member of the NZ Baptist Christian Education Committee for 7 years. His life-long career as a teacher culminated in his being awarded a QSO for services to education in 2002. He was for 13 years Principal of Tawa College, near Wellington. Bruce is also well-known as an opening batsman for the New Zealand cricket team and was a member of the first New Zealand team to ever win a test series (against Pakistan in Pakistan). He is currently President of Cricket Wellington.
