Parachute 2009 Best Clips

We took a Film Studio to Parachute 2009 and asked people to share their love of the Bible on film. Below are some of the best clips that we know will inspire and encourage others.

Bible Society Film Studio at Parachute ‘09.

The Bible is an important part of being a Christian and we’re thrilled that so many people at Parachute shared their passion for the Bible on film.  God really blessed our presence by allowing us to capture so many inspirational clips that we hope will encourage you and others to connect with your Bibles.

Thanks to everyone who came to our film studio and recorded a clip. Bless you all.

Sherie from Tauranga inspired us all with a heartfelt rap that she wrote herself. She has a strong passion to share God's word through music and we pray that she continues to be inspired by God's Word, and keeps writing great raps!

Sherie’s Parachute experience

Parachute 2009 was my first ever, and the atmosphere was just awesome!  I loved it! God blessed me in lots of ways....  I came to Parachute with my family from Lifechurch Tauranga and we ran the bouncy slide to raise funds for a rice paddy in India, we raised all the money needed - "Praise God".  My favorite things about Parachute were Rapture Ruckus and other music as well as the maze, where you pretend you've left NZ and are visiting a place where there’s famine and poverty - that experience really touched my heart!

Without Gods word how can I see where I'm going?

I love reading my Bible. There's so many cool books and it's real, so people can relate to it today! I like Psalms, Proverbs and the book of Mark & James, but it’s all good!  It helps me to stay close to God and hear from Him.  Psalm 119 says: "Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light for my path" That's so true - without Gods Word how can I see where I'm going?  Sometimes if it’s the last thing we feel like doing (reading the Bible) then it’s the very thing we should be doing!  It’s the sword of my spirit and it gets me through the battles, it’s our strong defensive weapon and the enemy flees from it!
I visited the Bible Society film studio at Parachute to see how I could help get the Word of God out to people. I watched some of the film clips already recorded during festival and found them interesting. My friend suggested I sing my rap song that I wrote myself, so I did, and my clip was picked as the best of the weekend! Wow, I just thought I'd share the gift God has given me and I’m stoked my clip will be used to encourage others. Thank you guys, I was really humbled to be the overall winner and just want to give all the praise and Glory to God because I'm so grateful to Him for my salvation and His goodness towards me.
I’m now sharing God’s Word through Bible a Month Club too, which I think is awesome. Here in NZ we have easy access to the Bible, and if there’s an opportunity to spread God's Word across the globe to bless others then I say go hard!
I really believe in what Bible Society are doing - keep up the good work.
I can’t wait to do Parachute again!
