Esther’s Parachute experience
The importance of the Bible
A person’s life is like a scale. To a persons life there are two parts. When there is just a person on one end of the scale, it’s uneven. People can go through their lives without knowing how to balance the scale. They try everything to even it up like drugs, violence and all that kind of stuff. But the only true thing that can even the scale is the Bible. The Bible has the answers for everything. Knowing verses and quoting them to yourself like when you are afraid or in a troubled situation helps you to remember that you are not alone, but that God is always with you.
Parachute experience
26,000 people, a sea of tents, and the penetrating sun pretty much sums up Parachute. My first experience of Parachute was in 2009. I came with my youth group expecting no sleep, junk food, and sunburn. But found myself being filmed, moshing, and having more fun than I imagined. Parachute was better than any seminar and bigger than any youth conference, I’ve been to. Those four days were the best days of my life.
Experience of making the Bible Society film clip
Look a t those cool orange chairs! That was the first thought that popped into my head when I saw the Bible Society tent. Going in to sit on one of the chairs, I was introduced to the Bible Society team and told about their filming people. I willingly volunteered and made my friends wait for me. Nervously putting the mic on as I stood in front of the camera, my thoughts fired like an electrical storm. When the first question was asked, my brain froze but as I began to answer the words just flew out of my mouth answering question after question with everything that came out into my mind. With the positive feedback from the cameraman I felt good about everything that I had said. Filling in the info sheet and collecting my super cool badge I left the tent. Then with surprise a couple of hours later, I received a txt saying I had won a prize for my interview. With my heart pumping and my head held high I raced back to the tent. Collecting my prize with my aunty was the best moment of the whole Parachute.

Nat’s Parachute experience
The Bible is like our guide to life - it teaches right from wrong and gives us reasons why. It tells us where the way is and it's the sign-post to Jesus. It's a living book. Not something from a dead era, not irrelevant but part of our lives and part of our journeys.

Sarah’s Parachute experience
Parachute 09 was an awesome experience for all ages. I always take my friend along. We are twelve years old and are addicted to the music. I really liked the spray tunnels that cooled me off, and the water slide. But the best part of Parachute is all the bands and morning meetings, I really enjoyed the morning meetings – they were awesome and I bet next year they’ll be even better.
The Bible to me means the truth and teaches me about the Lord our saviour. It helps me realise who God and Jesus really are and how much we are loved. The things that I love reading about in the Bible most are what amazing things Jesus did for the world and comparing it to how things are now so that I can tell others about Jesus and we can help save the world.
