Blokes Shed Afternoon report

Mar 09, 2009

The Te Awamutu Action Group stepped out in faith to organise a fundraising event we called the Blokes Shed Afternoon held on Sunday 1 March.

On the previous day over 30mm of rain fell, but by the afternoon of the shed visits it was pleasant sunny weather. By 1.30pm, at a farm near Te Awamutu, a large car shed saw the arrival of many blokes, some with their wives and children. About seventy people turned up in total to view the magnificent collection of vintage and classic British cars and model cars.

Our next shed stop was to view Colin Pinkerton's extensive tractors and farm machinery packed into three sheds. The jewel of his collection was undoubtedly the immaculately restored traction engine.

The final shed stop was Rod Bent's large new shed where the main attraction was afternoon tea!

Our local Treasurer was delighted to announce that the Blokes Shed Afternoon raised $1,220 for the work of Bible Society. Te Awamutu Bible Society Action Group was grateful for the generosity of all who attended and made donations. Bless you all.
