Dannevirke Music Variety Report
Oct 21, 2009
On Friday 16 October the Dannevirke Action Group held a Music Variety Evening in memory of Dulcie Turvey. Dulcie would have been proud of the music talent displayed and the evening could have been called: ‘Dannevirke’s got Talent’.
There were fourteen acts on the night along with some audience sing-a-longs.
During the first half of the evening we were entertained by song, guitar, piano, and banjo by seven different acts.
At the half way stage I gave a short talk about Bible Society and the project that we were raising money for on the night. The project was to supply four new vans full of Bibles for China. An offering was then taken up.
During the second half of the evening we were entertained again by song, piano and guitar and also by a recitation to Banjo Patterson.
The biggest applause of the night went to a young girl, Audrey, singing 'He Honore' and 'How Great is our God' and to Jordan, a college student who makes his guitar talk. I beleive both Audrey and Jordan will go a long way with their music.
The evening was finished with another sing-a-long by the 70 strong audience singing: 'To God be the Glory.'
Supper was served at the conclusion of a great evening of musical talent.
My thanks go to the Dannevirke Action Group and Willie for organising a great event.
