The second Blokes Shed afternoon

Te Awamutu Bible Society Action Group report.
The second Blokes Shed afternoon, Sunday 14 February 2010

A very worthwhile fundraising event was organized by the Te Awamutu Bible Society Action Group recently. Following on from the first Blokes Shed afternoon held twelve months ago, John Austin, a local Christian contractor, agreed to hold a visit to his large base south of Te Awamutu. Nearly sixty men and several women were personally escorted by John around the parked tractors (35), combine harvesters, trucks and various other agricultural machines. Most years John employs up to seventy workers in the busy spring to autumn time.

Many also enjoyed looking through the display of Bibles and other literature set up by Peter Dean our Bible Society Regional Representation. Adults were asked to make a donation and all money raised will go towards providing Bibles overseas.

Thanks to the hardworking women of the Action Group who provided a delicious afternoon tea.
