From cookies in your kitchen to Bibles for members of the NZ Police
Enjoy baking? Want to support Bible Mission in NZ?
Bake for Bibles is a fun and creative baking activity to help raise funds for the special-edition Bible being offered to members of the NZ Police.
They’ve been hard at work on the Beat during the Coronavirus pandemic keeping our communities safe and we reckon what better way to say ‘thank you’ than by baking (and icing) some Police-themed cookies?
Every $9 you raise will provide the opportunity for a member of the New Zealand Police to receive their own special-edition Bible (learn more about this project below).
Bake for Bibles – Online fundraiser
May 25 – July 3
This year, due to the recent Coronavirus pandemic, we are harnessing the power of social media to raise money for the specially-designed Bible for the New Zealand Police.
That means your cookies are not for sale – you get to bake your cookies and eat them too!
Instead, you’ll raise funds by inviting your friends, family, and church to sponsor your baking efforts by making a contribution through the campaign’s online fundraising form.
Or you can make your own contribution towards the special-edition Bible using the same online form.
The Bake for Bibles in 3 simple steps:
Step 1 – Bake and ice – Pop on your Baker’s hat, heat up the oven, and get baking and icing your Police-themed cookies – there will be prizes for the best-decorated cookies (as judged by the PCSN of course!).
Step 2 – Snap and share – After snapping a pic or two of your baking, just share them with your ‘extended online bubble’ using social networking channels like Facebook, Instagram, Email or WatsApp.
That could be your friends, family, church group or whoever you think might be keen to support you.
Step 3 – Link and fundraise – Include the link to the Bake for Bibles fundraising page when your share your pics, so your supporters can sponsor your baking efforts by making a contribution online – we’ll help you write a little blurb so they know what you’re fundraising for too!
Alternatively, you can make your own contribution towards the special-edition Bible after you’ve done your baking using the same online form.
Every $9 you raise will provide the opportunity for a member of the New Zealand Police to receive their own special-edition Bible.

Special-edition Bible for the New Zealand Police
A year ago, Bible Society New Zealand began working with the Police Christian Support Network (PCSN) to create a Bible especially for the New Zealand Police.
This special-edition Bible is currently in print and all going to plan, it should be available by July.
The PCSN exists to maintain and nurture the faith of Christian members of the police.
Watch the video below to learn more about this project.
Remember, all the funds raised will go towards the special-edition Bible being offered to members of the NZ Police.
