Bible Society launches new small group resource

Whether your group meets at a café, club, church or in your home, Bible Society has just launched a brilliant new small group Bible resource that is perfect for digging deeper into the Bible with your friends.

It’s called LYFE, and is designed to help groups connect the ancient writings of Scripture to life in 21st century New Zealand.

LYFE is a 36 session Bible study resource based around six key spiritual formation themes including prayer, justice and the Holy Spirit. Each study features a short video of a New Zealand Christian leader sharing their thoughts on the topic. Some of the video guests include Auckland pastor Tak Bhana, musician and worship leader Cindy Ruakere and Wellington social entrepreneur and Anglican Priest Scottie Reeve.

“It has been such a privilege to participate in a resource which is so rich in biblical spirit and truth. I know this will be a gift to the communities who get amongst it,” Scottie says.

Groups are invited in each session to reflect on a passage from the Bible and then are challenged to think about and experience a spiritual practice during the coming week.

Bible Society has been working on developing the LYFE resources for New Zealand for over a year. New CEO Neels Janse van Rensburg says, “LYFE is a great resource and we are delighted to be able to offer it to churches for free. We are hoping LYFE will help individuals and groups to grow in their faith and life with God.”

The resource is suitable for people at all stages of their Christian faith journey, whether just starting out or having been a Christian for a while. LYFE is flexible and designed to be easy to lead. Groups can choose from three options to suit their schedule; a six week taster track, a three month track or the full one year track.

LYFE is completely free and available now. Click here to find out more.
