HELP BRING BIBLES TO
Officially, the number of Christians in China is 46 million, but unofficially the number of Christians is 100 million! The rapid growth of the Church in China, while very encouraging, also brings its challenges.
That’s why, our focus is on providing Bibles and Bible resources to poor Christians and to lay preachers in rural China.
By making a gift today, you will help:
Chinese Christians love the Bible but due to their impoverished circumstances many are simply unable to afford one.
Take the case of 78-year-old Zheng Yuzhen (pictured above), who was recently overjoyed to receive a large-print Bible through her church.
“Look, God loves me very much! I will treasure it! I will read it and keep it well. I don’t have to strain my eyes reading the Bible now and I can read it anytime,” says Zheng.
As a child, Zheng was born into a poor family. When she was grown up, she married a man with epilepsy who was unable to work. It came to a point where she couldn’t go on and she almost wanted to divorce her husband. It was during this desperate time that a neighbour shared the gospel with Zheng. “It was my first time hearing the good news. But I couldn’t attend church because of the heavy workload and the long working hours,” shared Zheng.
Two years later, she finally took her first steps through the church doors after a faithful Christian friend persisted in inviting her. Although she didn’t fully understand the sermon, she felt her burdens lift and her mind clear of confusion. Now, Zheng’s life has changed.
“Before knowing God, I was never satisfied in my heart. I wanted someone who could comfort me and earn money. Instead, my husband had epilepsy and couldn’t work. He wasn’t good at expressing himself. I didn’t look up to him and would often scold him and quarrel with him.
“But gradually I discovered that my husband was actually very concerned about our family. He lived his life within his means, didn’t gamble, and remained faithful to me. I then started to pray for him, asking God to heal his illness. I took care of him wholeheartedly, read the Bible to him and, amazingly, his epilepsy was cured!” says Zheng.
I would like to help bring Bibles and Bible resources to Christians and lay preachers in China.

A new translation is a completely fresh translation into a language that already has Scripture. This is not based on an existing translation, but is a completely new translation, using source texts.
A revised translation updates a translation that already exists so the language is understandable to the community today.
A first translation is the first time that Scripture is made available in a language. For instance, a first Bible is the first time that language has received the full Bible. A first portion is sometimes the first time a language receives any Scripture at all, but it could also be the first time that it receives an additional portion of Scripture. For example, a language may already have the New Testament, but it then receives the Book of Ruth for the first time.
