BRING BIBLES TO CHINA
THE CAUSE
The number of Christians in China is officially estimated at 40 million Protestants and 6 million Catholics, though unofficial figures suggest it could be as high as one hundred million. With Christianity growing at an estimated rate of 500,000 to one million new believers each year, the demand for Bibles and trained church leaders is immense.
Yet, many Christians—especially in rural areas—struggle to access a Bible of their own. There is also a severe shortage of pastors—just one ordained minister for every 6,700 believers—leaving churches to rely on 190,000 lay preachers, many of whom have limited theological training and resources.
With your support, together we can help change this. By partnering with the United Bible Societies, we can provide Bibles, large-print editions, and study materials to believers and lay preachers across China.
THE IMPACT
Here’s how your gift can make a difference:
- 15,000 Chinese Study Bibles for lay preachers
- 1.3 million subsidised Bibles, including 70,000 free Bibles for those in need.
- 10,000 sets of Bibles and study resources for lay preachers and Bible students

BEARING FRUIT IN CHINA
Luo Zhuoyuan’s faith journey began when she attended church for the first time in 2003 with a friend. At the time she was struggling with personal issues, and she found solace in the preacher’s words and the choir’s hymns. Even the words of the simple song – “Jesus loves me” – spoke to her in a powerful way.
Previously, no matter how hard she tried, Luo had felt empty deep within. Now, she knew that Jesus was the one she had been longing for.
A year later, Luo was baptised. She began serving in the choir and on the worship ministry team, but she yearned for a deeper understanding of the Bible. When there was an opportunity to enrol at Jiangxi Bible School, she seized it with both hands.
“Throughout my three-year study at the Bible School, I was blessed with guidance from the pastors and elders who helped me gain a deeper understanding of biblical truths and the development of God’s church,” Luo said.
During her time there, Luo received a set of Bible resources, with the support of the United Bible Societies. These included a Chinese Study Bible, a Topical Analysis of the Bible, a New Bible Commentary, and a Tien Dao Commentary on the Gospel of John.
For Luo, these resources have given her a deeper understanding of the Lord’s teachings and helped her to share biblical truths more effectively. “I feel more equipped to go out into the world and bear fruit – fruit that will last. I am grateful for this gift of love, and I know that it will make a difference in the lives of many.” said Luo.
