Become a volunteer

Let’s get moving, let’s get active and together let’s bring the hope of the Bible to the world!

Our volunteer programme is called ActiveBible.

ActiveBible volunteers organise and participate in events and activities that aim to emphasise the importance of the Bible in contemporary culture in a fun active way. Events can include marathons, walkathons, swimathons, bike rides, Bible quizzes, prayer meetings, concerts, luncheons, or any other fun activity you’d like to run.

It’s about putting the Bible into activities and at the same time making the Bible active in people’s lives.

Our ActiveBible volunteers are involved in:

  • keeping churches informed of Bible Society projects and resources
  • promoting Bible projects and resources
  • organising fundraising events, and Bible engagement activities
  • participating in fundraising events and activities

You can help impact children and young people just like Rev Mel Bowen has!

Mel is a true Bible Society volunteer legend.  In 2014, Mel ran in the 50th anniversary of the Rotorua Marathon to help raise money for Bible projects. Through his efforts, he raised $5,426!  It was the eighth time Mel has participated in the Marathon to raise funds for Bible Society.
