Transform Lives with

Bibles in Heart Languages

THE CAUSE

Globally, there are 3,701 languages— representing half of the world’s linguistic diversity—that still do not have any Scripture. In response to this need, the United Bible Societies (UBS) has reaffirmed its commitment to Bible translation, with a goal of completing 1,200 new translations by 2038.

“Providing the Bible in their heart language is significant not only at the individual level but also at the social and cultural levels. Our teams of translators and translation consultants around the world are working with much commitment towards this task,” said UBS Director of Global Bible Translation, Alexander Schweitzer.

Our current focus in on supporting Bible translation projects in Thailand, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, the South Pacific, Vietnam, and Burkina Faso.

By supporting these initiatives you can help bring the Bible to people who have never heard it before in their heart language.

THE IMPACT

The Bible Translation projects your gift will help support:

  • New Zealand – Māori Bible translation
  • Papua New Guinea – Tok Pisin Bible revision
  • Vietnam – Tai Don First New Testament
  • Samoa – Samoan Contemporary Old Testament
  • Tonga – Tongan Bible new translation & Bible revision
  • Thailand – Urak Lawoi Bible & Thai Study Bible
  • Burkina Faso – Birifor First Bible

For Bible translators in countries like Papua New Guinea (PNG), the journey to bring God’s Word to life is one of courage and sacrifice. Words like distance, danger, disease, and dedication define their daily reality.

PNG is one of the most linguistically diverse nations in the world, home to over 800 living languages. Despite immense challenges, translators like Maimiya are tirelessly working to bring the Bible into ten local languages, including Tok Pisin, the common language of the region.

“I see Bible translation as being so vital.” says Maimiya. “I read Romans 10, the passage about ‘How can one hear the Word of God, unless it is being preached?’ It tells me that someone can only hear the Word of God when it is in their mother tongue.”

Your support today can empower Bible translators like Maimiya to share God’s Word with those who have never experienced it in their heart language. Together, we can help make the Bible accessible to everyone.
