Volunteer Week 2021

Thank you to all our Bible Society NZ volunteers!

The contribution of our volunteers to the work of Bible Society NZ for the past 175 years is unparalleled and without their help, it would be impossible to fulfil our mission.

To those who walked and travelled on horseback throughout frontier regions to distribute Bibles, to the ‘Red Book’ Collectors, Church Representatives, Action Group members, Volunteer Speakers, Bake for Bibles, and Manna Christian Stores volunteers, we say Thank You!

Get to know the people behind the mission

There is a Māori proverb that says:

“He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tangata, he tangata, he tangata.”
“What is the most important thing in the world? It is people, it is people, it is people.”

That sums up what is at the heart of our mission organisation – it’s our generous volunteers who enable us to continue to help make the Bible accessible to everyone and encourage interaction with it.

In the video below, you will discover the lengths our volunteers have gone to help bring Bibles to people in New Zealand and around the world!
