Help Serve Churches

In Laos, Malawi, and Kazakhstan

THE CAUSE

Around the world, the United Bible Societies fellowship (UBS) plays a vital role in serving the churches by equipping them with Bibles and Scripture resources and supporting their mission to share God’s Word. As a global fellowship of over 150 Bible Societies, it works closely with churches across denominations to provide translations of the Bible in heart languages, promote literacy, and offer Bible-based programmes for spiritual and social transformation.

It partners with churches in challenging contexts—such as areas of conflict, poverty, or persecution—helping to strengthen their outreach and discipleship efforts. Our focus is on three such Bible Societies: The Laos Bible Society, the Bible Society of Malawi, and the Bible Society of Kazakhstan.

From small villages in Laos, to rural families in Malawi, to communities in Kazakhstan—the need for the Bible is real and urgent. And you can help!

Simply use the secure online donation form or internet banking to make your gift to help place Bibles and Scripture resources into the hands of families, pastors, and communities who are longing to know God more.

THE IMPACT

Here’s what your support can do:

📖 In Laos: Help distribute 2,000 Lao Bibles and 2,000 White Hmong Bibles. This work runs alongside literacy programmes so people can not only read but be transformed by the Bible.

📖 In Malawi: Support the distribution of Family Scripture Packs—each pack includes a Bible, a Chichewa children’s Bible, a Bible reading guide, and a family commitment form to encourage faith at home.

📖 In Kazakhstan: Help provide 1,500 Russian Bibles and 2,000 Scripture portions in Russian and Kazakh, bringing hope and truth in people’s heart languages.

Bible Mission in Malawi
Maxwell, right, and his wife, Ethel, and their children with the Scriptures they have received.

A Bible for the First Time: How One Family’s Faith Was Transformed IN Malawi

When Maxwell Mazambani, a dedicated Sunday school teacher, received a Family Scripture Engagement Pack, he knew it would make a difference. But he didn’t realise just how deeply it would impact his family and church.

“I am very grateful for the packs we have received,” Maxwell shared. “As a Sunday school teacher, receiving the 100 Steps Children’s Bible is incredibly valuable for my children and my Sunday school learners. Our church has never had any materials to support children’s learning, so this is the first of its kind.”

But the impact of the project extends beyond the Sunday school. Maxwell’s wife, Ethel, revealed that this was the first time they had ever owned a Bible in their home since they got married in 2013. “This project is bringing us together,” she expressed with gratitude.

For the first time, the Mazambanis are reading Scripture together as a family, growing closer to God—and each other.

This is the heart of Bible Society’s mission: to place God’s Word into homes and hearts, especially where access has been limited.

This year, the Bible Society of Malawi intends to reach 1,120 families with Family Scripture Engagement Packs.

Will you help more families like Maxwell’s receive the gift of God’s Word?

Your support can spark faith, strengthen families, and equip the next generation.
